Know where you stand.
Before you trade.
The trade is between the collectors
Tradle is intended to help collectors arrange exchanges with each other. Tradle is not the seller or owner of their cards, is not a party to their card-exchange agreement, and does not guarantee that another collector will fulfil it. Hosting a listing or recording a review does not certify a card’s authenticity, ownership or condition.
Each collector is responsible for truthful descriptions, the right to trade their cards, disclosing damage, and fulfilling the agreed packing, dispatch, card and cash obligations. In a live family account, a verified responsible adult would manage the agreement, payment, delivery and any dispute.
Responsibility for problems
Tradle does not provide insurance or automatic reimbursement for another collector’s failure. Problems caused solely by a collector, where Tradle is neither at fault nor otherwise legally responsible, are that collector’s responsibility. This includes their inaccurate descriptions, failure to send the agreed cards, or breach of the agreed exchange.
Tradle remains responsible for its own service and any responsibility imposed on it by law. This notice does not exclude responsibility for Tradle’s own fraud, negligence or breach of its obligations, and does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence. It does not take away consumer rights, remedies against a responsible party, or access to courts. Checking a box in this demo does not waive those rights.
Independent dispute resolution
The intended route for an unresolved disagreement between collectors is an independent mediator or suitable alternative dispute resolution (ADR) service, where the service can accept the case and the parties agree to use it. Tradle would not act as the binding decision-maker for the collectors’ contractual dispute.
No provider has been appointed or connected. Eligibility may depend on the countries involved, whether a collector trades as a business, and whether the dispute concerns cards, cash, or both. Fees, deadlines, participation rules and whether an outcome is binding must be made clear before a referral. No current service is promised to cover private swaps or international barter.
This draft does not impose exclusive arbitration or require you to give up court proceedings, payment-provider remedies or other legal rights. Independent dispute resolution must not prevent a complaint about Tradle’s own service.
If something goes wrong
- Record the problem. Keep the agreed offer, condition evidence, correspondence and delivery records. Do not confirm satisfactory receipt of a card that does not match the agreement. In this demo, “Report a demo issue” only pauses the local trade.
- Seek a resolution safely. An adult collector or a family’s responsible adult should raise the issue with the other collector through the live service’s protected route when available. Suspected fraud, threats and child-safety concerns need a reporting route rather than direct confrontation.
- Use an eligible independent route. If agreement cannot be reached, consider an appropriate mediator, ADR service or court. A cash payment dispute may also have a provider route; payment protection must not be assumed to cover the traded cards.
- Keep time limits in mind. A local pause or discussion does not extend provider or legal deadlines. The live service must explain the applicable routes and deadlines without inventing a universal limit.
Platform safety is still Tradle’s responsibility
The proposed third-party route does not replace account security, fraud reporting, safeguarding, moderation or handling complaints about Tradle itself. Those functions need an actual operator and support process before launch. This prototype sends no report, preserves no secure evidence and issues no refund or binding decision.
Legal review and launch requirements
Before launch: identify the legal operator and contact route; have counsel review the business model, liability wording and consumer rights in supported countries; appoint an eligible independent provider; publish its scope, costs and process; and implement durable records, consent and protected complaint handling.
