A little trading table.
Right on your Home Screen.
Use the current HTTPS beta link from your organiser. A downloaded project ZIP or the organiser’s localhost address will not run on your iPhone.
- Open the beta link in Safari on your iPhone.
- Tap Share (on some Safari layouts, open the More menu first), then Add to Home Screen.
- If shown, leave Open as Web App switched on. Keep the name Tradle and tap Add.
- Open the new Tradle icon. Already joined? Choose Sign in with the username and password you chose. Joining for the first time? Choose Join with a code and use your organiser’s private invitation. Signing in again inside the Home Screen app does not need a new invitation.
Apple’s current iPhone instructions ↗
Photograph a card. Share it in a trade.
Save seven guided views of each physical card, then add up to twelve extra details. Photos upload one view at a time and stay private until you explicitly share them.
- Start with a 12 MP JPEG. On supported iPhones, open Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible for new JPEG photos. If Photo Mode is available, choose 12 MP. Leave RAW and 48 MP off for this trial. Settings and camera prompts vary by model and iOS version. These changes do not convert photos you already took. Apple’s format instructions · Apple’s resolution settings.
- Finish the card entry first. In Tradle, open My binder, then Add a card or choose an existing entry. Use Review card & sharing to check its details, choose an offer preference and share the entry on the beta trade floor. Save before taking photos: editing card details retires its current photo set. A public listing alone does not share inspection photos.
- Open Inspection photos. Select the Physical copy and Raw card or Graded slab. If you have duplicates, photograph each actual copy separately. For an offer of several copies the current beta uses copy 1, then 2, and so on.
- Take the first view. Under Full front, tap Take photo. Use the rear camera if offered, take the picture and accept it in the iPhone prompt. Keep Tradle open while it saves. Wait for “Saved privately”, then tap the thumbnail to inspect the full-size image. Return to Tradle afterwards. Choose photo lets you select an existing JPEG, PNG or WebP instead.
- Complete the views. Use Go to next missing view to continue. Saved progress remains when you close and return. Retake blurred or reflective views, and use Add a detail or defect for extra angles or damage. Every upload saves automatically; there is no final upload-all button.
- Review and allow inspection. Once all seven required views are saved, open each at full size, tick the inspection checkbox and choose Allow inspection in my active offers. Do this before agreeing to a trade, because agreement reserves the card and pauses retakes.
- Inspect together. Your friend needs their own invited beta account. They can find your shared card on Trade floor, choose Build an offer, review it and Send test offer. In My trades, either participant opens Inspect shared photos for that offer. Each person chooses whether to share their own card photos.
The seven views
- Full front and full back, with all four corners visible.
- Top corners and bottom corners, sharply focused. For a slab, use the grading label and the seams/seals instead; do not open the slab.
- Surface in angled light to reveal scratches.
- Edges, with extra detail photos for any wear.
- The card beside a note with your Tradle display name and today’s date. Do not include your address or identity documents.
Use soft daylight, a plain background, a clean lens and no flash. Keep the camera parallel for the full front/back. Avoid filters, screenshots, cropping and digital touch-ups. A photo helps someone inspect condition; it does not verify authenticity or a grade.
Who can see the photos?
Sharing covers all current and future active offers containing that exact card copy while its card details stay the same. It is not a public photo link or a share to just one selected friend. Retaking or removing a view switches sharing off until you review again. Stop sharing prevents further library viewing. A separately accepted photo record remains until removed in My trades or its 30-day expiry. Screenshots or files another collector already saved cannot be recalled. Family photo sharing remains disabled while verified guardian safeguards are unfinished.
Accept the same photos together
Both collectors open My trades → Inspect shared photos. Each person reviews every image at full size and the exact card details, then ticks both confirmations and taps Accept test trade & photo record. The second acceptance saves the frozen images and reserves the cards automatically. If a photo or offer changes, both people must review again.
Fees are £0.00 in this beta; do not pay or ship cards. Pending acceptance lasts 24 hours. Accepted records last 30 days, with the expiry shown in the app. Either person can use Remove record & withdraw sooner; this cancels an unfinished agreed test trade. A completed binder transfer is not reversed.
Removing library photos does not erase an accepted record. Temporary records are excluded from checked backup bundles and may be lost after recovery. Read the photo record and retention rules.
If a photo will not save
- HEIC or RAW: take a new 12 MP JPEG using the settings above, or export an unedited JPEG from your original and keep the original. Renaming the file extension does not convert it.
- Size: the beta accepts up to 20 MB and 24 million pixels per view. A camera’s rounded “24 MP” setting may exceed that limit; use 12 MP for this trial. Full front/back must be at least 1000 × 1600 pixels.
- Connection interrupted: reopen the card’s photos and check what was saved before trying again. An interrupted upload may have finished. Never assume a thumbnail means the other collector can see it; check the sharing state.
- Photo service busy: wait briefly, then try again. Uploads are processed one at a time on the small beta server.
- Reserved card: inspect before agreeing. You can still stop sharing or remove photos after agreement; retakes are paused.
Keep your originals. These are private beta inspection copies stored on Tradle’s server and included in confidential backups. Removal stops current app access; older backups may retain copies. No actual money or cards should be exchanged during this test.
Try it with a friend
Add or import two test cards, share one, and ask a friend to propose a bundle. Review a counteroffer, agree, then confirm test completion from both accounts. Test quantities change only when both people confirm. An unfinished test can be cancelled even after one confirmation.
If something looks wrong
- Check the link matches the organiser’s current beta address.
- Close and reopen Tradle when returning after a long break. Sessions expire after 12 hours; use your existing username and password to sign in again.
- If joining was interrupted, try signing in before using the invitation again. Contact your organiser privately if you cannot get in; never send your password.
- Refresh after reconnecting. A failed connection can leave an action’s outcome uncertain: check My trades before starting another offer.
- To import on iPhone, save the exported CSV in Files, then choose it under Import collection.
- Tell the organiser your iPhone model, iOS version, screen and what happened. Hide invitation codes and private details in screenshots.
